Get discovered, cited, and chosen in the AI era — with new ways to ground AI in your business, understand how it represents you, and take action

The agentic era isn’t coming, it’s here. AI traffic is growing 8x faster than human traffic.1 Yet many businesses still block AI by default, shutting out the fastest-growing customer segment. And those that do let agents in face the opposite problem: their content powers AI answers with little measurement and attribution to show for it.

This new era of the internet calls for new technology and new economic models that create value and transparency for everyone behind an AI answer: consumers, brands, content creators, and publishers alike.

For marketers, the challenge is navigating three eras of the web simultaneously. You have to transform your business to win with LLMs and agents, while continuing to serve human customers who research and buy on your website. Every solution we’re announcing ahead of Cannes Lions helps you succeed with four key moves:

  1. Get found by AI. Make content accessible and legible when AI systems go looking. Microsoft Web IQ is already used by many leading AI assistants like Copilot and ChatGPT. It’s our new, AI-native search infrastructure built for agents that connects them to fresh, authoritative real-world knowledge–including information about your business.
  2. See how you show up. Use new citations reporting in Microsoft Clarity to measure when and how AI discovers, cites, and chooses your business.
  3. Take action. Clarity’s content recommendations will give you clear next steps to improve your GEO strategy. Brand Agents also help you turn AI-powered customer conversations on your website into sales. And if you’re running Microsoft Advertising campaigns, our new MCP server helps you build your own AI workflows to simplify campaign management.
  4. Keep reaching people. Human, LLM, and agentic discovery coexist; most customers still browse for themselves. AI Max in Search campaigns will soon support search term landing page reporting, brand exclusions and inclusions, and term exclusions for asset optimization. And programmatic buyers can reach premium audiences with Audience packages in Media Marketplace to access new segments from trusted data partners.

Get found: Ground AI in current, real‑world knowledge

Microsoft Web IQ already grounds the AI platforms your customers use most — Copilot, ChatGPT, and more. And if AI can't ground in your brand’s content, you're not in the answer.

Web IQ, introduced earlier this month at BUILD 2026, is a suite of AI-native grounding APIs that connect AI systems to fresh, real-world intelligence from across the web, including web pages, news, images, and videos.

For marketers, grounding is how AI reads your business: your website, product details, brand mission, FAQs, and more. When a shopper asks AI, “Which sandals are best for walking the Croisette in Cannes,” grounding is what pulls in the latest product specs from merchants, online review videos, and articles about summer footwear trends.

Web IQ is part of Microsoft IQ, a unified intelligence layer that can power your brand’s own AI applications with what's true about your business, and with what's happening across the live web. Ground them in proprietary enterprise knowledge — with the data residency and isolation your teams require. And building on Microsoft’s decades of investment in Search, Web IQ delivers current and up-to-date context that allows your AI systems to answer in the right language, with the right local detail, whether your customer is in Tokyo or Berlin.

Nasdaq is currently deploying Web IQ as a knowledge source for AI applications, including Nasdaq Boardvantage®, a board management software solution.

The next step for Nasdaq Boardvantage® was to incorporate external information safely and with strict data isolation. Microsoft Web IQ allows us to query external data at lightning speed and returns highly accurate results without forcing us to bolt on a separate system or compromise on security."  Mohsin Shafqat  Director of Software Engineering, Nasdaq

Web IQ is now available in limited access to select Azure customers; join the waitlist here.

See how you show up: AI visibility in Microsoft Clarity

If grounding shapes what AI says about brands, products, and services, how do you know how you’re showing up? Being ranked and found in web results was the old job. Being accessible and legible to AI is the new one.

Other tools estimate how AI sees you with query proxies and simulations. Microsoft Clarity shows you the actual queries AI used to find, evaluate, and cite your content, drawn from the same grounding data that powers Web IQ.

Dive into new citations reporting to understand when your web pages are discovered, referenced, and used as sources in AI responses. Track share of authority relative to other sources. And view the actual queries AI systems used to retrieve and evaluate your content before generating an answer.

Citations reporting is now available to all Clarity users.

Take action: Improve your brand presence in LLM and agent ecosystems, and connect advertising campaigns to your AI workflows with Microsoft Advertising MCP

In the coming weeks, Clarity content recommendations will help you turn AI visibility insights and citations reporting into actionable next steps to improve your generative engine optimization (GEO) strategy. Understand how you can fill content gaps, build authority across key topics, and appear more often in AI answers that drive demand for your business.

With Clarity, you can also easily launch an AI advisor on your website in minutes through our new WooCommerce integration. Across brands, Brand Agent-assisted sessions show 2× higher conversion rates versus unassisted.2 And soon, Brand Agents will go beyond your website to help make your products more discoverable in Microsoft Copilot and Bing. When enabled, your Shopify or WooCommerce catalog becomes part of Microsoft’s commerce ecosystem, so your products can show up as customers research, explore, and decide what to buy.

Businesses aren’t only changing how they show up on AI surfaces, they’re also using AI to transform their own work. The Microsoft Advertising MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is expanding to open pilot with read-only access. It'll let businesses and agencies build custom AI workflows grounded in live campaign data inside M365 Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and more. It also extends advertising beyond the Microsoft Advertising Platform, bringing campaign data into the AI environments and workflows they’re already using.

Pilot partners like Mediaplus Performance, ClickTech, Kelkoo, Diginius, Optymzr, and Groupon are already finding success with MCP. And hear from Stagwell, Realtor.com, and Conversios on how they're putting MCP to work:

“MCP agents that can securely connect to the systems we rely on every day are unlocking entirely new ways of working. Using M365 Copilot, Microsoft Advertising MCP, and Azure AI Foundry, we've reduced campaign audit timelines from hours to minutes while building a scalable foundation for AI-driven transformation across media and marketing. This is not AI as a toolset, this is AI as infrastructure, embedded in how our media segments operate in Search at Stagwell.” Dan Roberts, Global SVP Search, Stagwell Media Platform
Microsoft Advertising MCP allows our Claude agents to move fluidly between our internal data and the ad platform — collapsing the time from competitive insight to actionable decision. What used to require manual pulls across multiple tools now happens in seconds, with a human reviewer still in the loop before anything goes live." Geoff Becker, Product Manager, Marketing, Realtor.com
“We quickly built a Performance Max audit dashboard on MCP with zero lift from our core engineering team, to evaluate campaign health, UET and conversion goals, Merchant Center feed health, and audience signals adoption for over 120 accounts at scale.” Rajiv Pathak, Managing Director, Conversios

We're also bringing Microsoft Advertising to where merchants already work through our partnership with Shopify. Shopify’s Campaign Autopilot is expanding to support Performance Max, making it easier for merchants to manage and optimize campaigns with AI by their side. Performance Max brings together the best of Microsoft AI and inventory to help you drive more sales across Bing, Edge, MSN, Outlook and more.

Keep reaching people: New AI Max features and premium audiences in Media Marketplace

While the LLM and agentic web are growing rapidly, most people still browse and navigate across websites and apps themselves – we’re continuing to invest in new ways to reach them.

AI Max in Search campaigns will be expanding to open pilot over the next month to help you use AI to supercharge query matching, asset personalization, and smarter URL routing. As searches become more conversational and complex on AI surfaces like the Copilot app and Bing’s Copilot Search, AI Max and PMax are the most effective ways to make sure you’re capturing relevant intent and delivering a tailored ad experience to potential customers.

AI Max will include new controls and reporting features to help you steer and understand campaign performance. Use brand inclusions and exclusions to shape traffic from relevant branded queries, and add term exclusions to make sure your text assets omit phrases that don’t align with your brand guidelines. In addition, search term landing page reporting provides full visibility into the end-to-end ad journey - bringing you even more built-in campaign transparency and control from the very start.

For programmatic buyers, new audience packages in Media Marketplace are available now. Get curated or custom segments tailored to your goals, built from trusted data providers like Experian/Audigent, Dstillery, Compliant, Samba, Peer39, and ShareThis.

"Programmatic buyers are looking for more effective ways to bring high-quality data, curated audiences, and premium inventory together in their campaigns. We’re excited to work with Microsoft Advertising to make Experian and Audigent audiences available through Audience Packages, helping advertisers activate trusted audience solutions across Microsoft and premium publisher inventory through the DSPs they already use." Ali Mack, VP of AdTech Sales, Experian Marketing Services
“We are honored to be selected by Microsoft Advertising as an audience package launch partner. By integrating Compliant’s Data Integrity Index into Microsoft’s Media Marketplace, we are empowering advertisers to make smarter, safer media investments—delivering not only compliance, but greater performance and trust for brands, agencies, and consumers alike.” Jamie Barnard, CEO, Compliant
" By bringing Dstillery’s predictive AI audiences into Microsoft Advertising’s programmatic marketplace as an Audience Packages launch partner, we’re making it easier for marketers to pair advanced audience intelligence with the best omnichannel inventory in the platforms and workflows they already use.” Jennifer Zeghibe, Senior Director of Partnerships, Dstillery

Meet us at Cannes Lions

The agentic web isn't waiting for anyone — it's forming now and the businesses that show up early will shape it. Get found by AI, see how you’re showing up, act on what you learn, and reach the people browsing the web themselves, without trading visibility for value.

The old web rewarded the best-optimized page. The new one rewards the most trusted source and should reward everyone behind the AI answer: consumers, brands, content creators, and publishers.

Everything we're bringing to Cannes works toward this future AI economy. Come find us at Microsoft Gardens.
