Access a world of opportunity scaling campaigns to 164 markets

January 16, 2023

Greater scale can unlock greater opportunities

The world may be better connected than ever before, but it doesn’t march to one rhythm or schedule. For example, just because seasonal demand for a product category dips in one region, it doesn’t mean it isn’t on the rise somewhere else. The rich variety of life makes our planet a more interesting place—and it also makes it a place of always-on opportunity for advertisers.

For marketers and advertisers like you, taking a global approach doesn’t just put you in touch with a wider audience, it also connects you to the many moments of opportunity that emerge in different times and places. No matter the size of your business or your vertical industry, scaling across languages and geographical regions is a smart strategy, and the simplest way to do it is to respond to signals of intent. You can do that with Microsoft Advertising, and now at an even greater scale!

34 additional markets launched in the latest phase of global expansion

In a memorable phrase, the author of The Long Tail, Chris Anderson described how mass marketing really depends on the ability to reach and engage “a mass of niches.” As we’ve expanded globally, we’re now illuminating those niches across most of the world’s markets.

In December and the latest phase of expansion, we added 34 markets to our roster, increasing the global markets total to 164.1 From Algeria to Zimbabwe, we’re helping marketers scale their campaigns and reach an audience of more than 1 billion people worldwide.

The 34 latest markets now available to all Microsoft Advertising customers include:

American Samoa, Anguilla, Barbados, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Faroe Islands, Gabon, Gibraltar, Greenland, Grenada, Jamaica, Marshall Islands, Niger, Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Senegal, Somalia, Suriname, Tonga. Tunisia, Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, United States Virgin Islands, Zambia

Your business can seize these new opportunities now. Here’s how.

4 steps to scaling your campaigns globally with Microsoft Advertising

Step 1: Sign up

There are various ways to get started with Microsoft Advertising, depending on where you’re located and whether you’re a new or existing advertiser. Learn more here.

Step 2: Import your Facebook and Google Ads campaigns

Import your Facebook and Google Ads campaigns and activate them across the Microsoft Search Network and Microsoft Audience Network without needing to recreate them. We offer a range of import tools to make it quicker and easier to get your campaigns up and running.

Step 3: Use location targeting to reach consumers

Use location targeting to serve your advertising in up to 164 markets.

Step 4: Use language targeting to reach consumers

Use language targeting to reach consumers in up to 35 languages,2 which  include:

Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, Turkish

Language targeting directs different language versions of your ads to consumers who are searching in that language, or whose Microsoft Bing domain matches your specified ad language. You can also target different language versions of your ad at specific locations and target multiple languages through different versions of the same ad. Bear in mind that ads in English will display to any searchers in the locations you target, so that the global reach of your campaign isn’t dependent on creating multiple different language versions.
