Content network sunset: Cleaning up data to ensure you have the most relevant entities

As previously announced, we stopped serving ads in the content network on June 30th, 2017. While the content network was deprecated, you still have content ad groups with content bid settings and content keywords in your accounts. Consequently, to ensure that your accounts contain only the most relevant entities that contribute to your advertising efforts and deliver a return on your investment, we are planning to cleanup data related to the content network that is no longer relevant on November 30th, 2017.

After November 30th:

  • The ad groups that have ad distribution set to both search and content network (default settings) will be migrated to search network only.
  • The ad groups that have ad distribution set exclusively to content network will be deleted. The ads in these ad groups have not been serving in the content network since June 30th, 2017.
  • You will no longer be able to create or update match-type content and set content bids in ad group setting.
  • Keywords with match type of content will be deleted.

If you would like to re-use these content ad groups, please edit their ad distribution to search network and ensure that the keywords within the content ad group are set to a different match-type. Follow the instructions in our linked help pages if you would like the re-use the content ad groups or the content keywords in our search network.
