Despite this, coal, oil, and gas remain reliable and affordable sources of power, and hold 76% of Australian electricity share.
Microsoft Advertising looked at how these industry trends are impacting search volume. Energy-related searches and clicks have increased since December 2020, with solar searches growing 14% year to date.
We also found that 40% of users searched only once for an energy provider before converting, indicating the importance of brands being discoverable early in the purchase funnel.
