Microsoft Advertising Insights hypothesized that an increase in vaccination rates would have a direct impact on consumers’ likelihood to travel domestically in the US. When comparing the two data points, we found that vaccinations and US travel destination searches have a statistically significant relationship for the 7-day moving average. In other words, as vaccination rates increase, travel searches grow. When looking at each state individually, we found seven key states where vaccinations and travel destinations have a statistically significant relationship.
