UK Valentine’s Day top searches and trends

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, Microsoft Advertising Insights looked back at 2021 Valentine’s Day searches and clicks to uncover trends in the UK.

We found that significant search growth begins in late January. Clicks peak in the days preceding Valentine’s, while searches peak on Valentine’s Day itself. This year, we’re expecting peak clicks from Monday through Friday preceding Valentine’s Day. Ensure that your campaign is up and running by end of January and that budgets are sufficient to cover peak weeks.

When looking at top clicked Valentine’s Day queries, 68% of clicks include “for him” compared to 32% including “for her.” We recommend including these keywords where feasible. Categories that see a clear increase in volumes leading up to Valentine’s Day include Flowers, Fragrances & Perfumes, Cards, Gifts, and Lingerie.
