Common How-To Scenarios

1. Run a Keyword Report

Once in the new Reporting view, choose “Keyword” report on the left navigation tree, and then click Run or Download.

The completed report will be saved under Reports history node.

Time saving tip: you can run the second report while your first report is still running. No wait is needed.

2. Customize and schedule your report

Change General Settings, choose columns and filters as you like. Expand “MY REPORT SETTINGS” section to check “Save as custom report box”, and schedule it. Once you run the report, your customized template will be saved under “Custom reports” on the left tree for future re-use, and the completed report with data result will also be saved under “Report history”.

3. Navigate reports

Seamless navigation flow allows you to work on multiple reports and multiple tasks in parallel with zero wait time. On the left navigation tree, there are 3 major categories as illustrated below:

Each category not only has its reports listed under its tree node, but also has its own page listing the same reports with more details. As an example, Report history page is shown below:

4. Reports retain Campaign context

With new Reporting, the reports you pull intelligently retain your context, so that the data you get is the most relevant and useful to the advertising problem you are cracking. Here is an example of how retaining campaign context can speed-up your everyday reporting workflow.

As part of your daily routine, you’ve logged in Bing Ads to check your campaigns. As usual, you go to the Campaigns tab, and Keywords sub-tab to inspect individual KW performance, to set your date range to Last 7 days, as shown below:

You determine you want to understand the distribution of traffic for these keywords across PCs, Tablets and Smartphones, which is only available in Reports., so you click Reports. Once in the Reports view, you find Keyword report is pre-selected for you, and the same date range and account you were working with is already preselected for you. Click the Run or Download at the bottom and you will get a report that carries the same context as the Campaigns tab.

5. Multiple related reports

To examine your advertising performance closely, you often pull different types of reports in a row. For example, you may be looking to improve the performance of your account by applying optimizations to improve CTR. You decide you’d like to look at a number of reports to determine where your optimization is most needed, and what optimization to apply. You decide to pull a Keyword report and include quality score to ensure you can identify the areas of your account needing the most attention, a Search Query Report in-case you need to identify any negative KWs which should be added, and an Ad Performance report to adjust/remove and underperforming ads.

All these reports will automatically run against the same date rage and accounts.

Your first report is Keyword report. You set the Date range as Last 14 days, and the Accounts to 2 accounts as shown below.

Click Run at the bottom of the page to run the report.

Now click Search query report on the left navigation tree as seen below:

You will see the Date range and accounts selected have been retained from the previous keyword report. Now click the Run button to run this report. Or, you can select an Ad report or any other report to run, with settings retained.

Note: you must run a report to retain its parameters.

6. Single click to run multiple reports

With a single click you can run multiple reports (up to 20). Click Report history to see a list of past reports. Select, and then run multiple reports as seen below:

Once the reports complete running, they will appear in the Report history. Note you can run multiple reports on the Custom reports page too.
