Pride month is a symbolic recognition of the gay rights movement. It's more important than ever to understand the history and significance of Pride month. This June marks the 49
th anniversary of the Stonewall riots that began after police raided the Stonewall Inn, a Greenwich Village gay bar. The riots were a turning point in the long fight for equal rights. We celebrate to show support and lift the voices of those still fighting for LGBTQ+ equality.

To celebrate, Bing is highlighting stories about two inspiring LGBTQ-owned businesses and their founders who use our platform to build theirs: Take Some Risk agency and the Marination restaurant group.
Take Some Risk, Inc.
When Duane Brown launched
Take Some Risk, Inc., an agency based in Vancouver, British Columbia, he turned his personal philosophy into his business model and it has started to pay off. Duane spent years working all over the world, learning to navigate different industries, markets, and cultures. As founder and head of strategy, Duane inspires his clients to take some calculated risks of their own. “My clients know that working with me will get them what they want, but they've got to be willing to jump off a cliff with me sometimes.”
Among other things, he delivers innovative solutions helping his clients find new customers, increase click-through and conversion rates and ultimately grow their businesses. Duane uses Bing to help clients get more customers at a lower cost. “The first thing I ask a new client, whether they’re in the US, UK, or Canada, is if they’re using Bing Ads. If not, we give it a shot. For me, Bing Ads is a no-brainer.”

Marination
“My Korean grandmother would be appalled at the idea of putting Korean marinated meats in a tortilla — so, of course, I was fascinated." Kamala Saxton, co-founder of Seattle food sensation
Marination, came up with the delicious business idea after watching a story about a Korean BBQ truck in Los Angeles on “Nightline.” She and her business partner, Roz Edison, have grown Marination from a single food truck into several restaurants including Marination Ma Kai on Alki Beach and Marination Station on Capitol Hill.
Now, they are setting their sights on bringing their highly sought-after Hawaiian-Korean fusion food to even bigger audiences with their new catering and luau business and with help from Bing. “I want everyone searching for ‘Hawaiian Luau’ within 50 miles to be able to find us,” says Edison. “Working with Bing Ads fuels our fire,” Saxton says. “Our audience isn’t finding us by word of mouth anymore. It’s through Bing. To be honest, when Roz shared the data, I was surprised at Bing’s reach,” Saxton admits.
