Janes of Digital was proud to host events in two new cities in February this year, Chicago, IL, USA and Sydney, NSW, AUS. Our evening in Sydney was our first Janes of Digital outside of North America and we can’t wait to keep growing. In both cities, guests had the opportunity to build relationships outside of day-to-day work, chat about current events, and explore important yet, often overlooked topics. Focusing on challenges faced by women and other underrepresented peoples in our industry isn’t always easy but has become incredibly important and these two events created time and space for us to do just that.
Janes of Digital Chicago – The Confidence Gap, Owning your strength in the workplace
Felicia Gardner, US Agency Lead at Microsoft, shared her energy and passion as the moderator for the panel. She was joined by Liz Prior, Co-Founder, L2T Media, Dan Golden, President & Co-Founder, Be Found Online, and Ronnie Dickerson Stewart, VP Grp Director, Digitas. They had a lively conversation about what confidence in the workplace looks like in today’s climate, and how to channel our confidence and put it to effective use. Both the panelist and the guests were generous in sharing their thoughts and experiences – those insights were valued by all.

Janes of Digital Sydney – Empowering Together
At our inaugural Australian Jane’s, the topic for the panel was: Empowered workforce | Enabling for the Big Roles | Empowering Together
The panel was moderated by Deb O’Sullivan, Enterprise Sales Manager Microsoft Australia, and she was joined on stage by Alicia Carey, Director Global Agency Partnerships, Microsoft, Jason Tonelli, Chief Digital & Technology Officer, Publicis, Natalie Yan-Chatonsky, Co-Founder, Full Time Lives and Victoria Stuart, Co-CEO, Beam.
The event created a safe and welcoming space to talk about both positive and negative experiences people have had in our industry. As one guest put it, “I thought it was a great event, it was nice to go to a discussion that focused on women rather than the usual industry stuff. Speakers were great, good to hear the real-life experiences of them…I think a lot of what they said resonated with the audience” Hetal Varsnai, Digital Advertising, Trading and Operations Manager, Quatas.
