Fall will be here before you know it. With it comes the open enrollment periods for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces and Medicare — both big opportunities for health insurance advertisers.
The 2017 open enrollment for the Healthcare.gov and state marketplaces will run from November 1 to January 31. Have your ACA campaigns up and optimized by October to capture consumers searching for new plans before the open enrollment period starts. Plan your budget to handle the first peak ahead of the January coverage deadline (in mid-December) and the second peak at the end of the enrollment period (late January).
For Medicare, the open enrollment period consistently runs from October 15 to December 7. It’s important to have your campaigns up and optimized by September to capture consumers searching for new plans before the open enrollment period starts. Although Medicare has three enrollment periods, plan to spend most of your enrollment budget on the open enrollment period, which is when most consumers have an opportunity to switch plans.
Whether you’re targeting the ACA or Medicare enrollments, or both, it’s time to bring your campaigns in for a checkup. View or download our presentation above for relevant insights to help you prepare for the health insurance open enrollment periods.
