Ads promoting securities and financial products and services (including mutual funds, securities, unlisted securities, futures, etc.,) must meet the restrictions specified below:
- Banks, securities firms, futures investment trusts, and futures investment consultancies must obtain government approval and all required business licenses for the product or services it sells or offers. The advertiser's website must provide information such as the approval of establishment, part-time or full-time business license, etc.
- Ads must abide by all related laws and regulations of related self-disciplinary associations. They must not contain any falsehoods, deceptions, omissions, or any inappropriate information that may mislead consumers. In addition, the advertiser must include a statement, signed/sealed by the supervisor of its legal department or related person in charge, stating that the legal department or related department has reviewed the content of the ad and determined that the ad complies with the aforementioned legal requirements.
Ads promoting futures trust funds
- Advertisers are required to additionally provide documents to certify that 1) They have complied with related laws and regulations of the self-disciplinary association three working days prior to the issuance of the ad and have submitted the content of the ad to the relevant association(s); 2) The advertisers have never received any objections with regard to the content of the ads.
Ads promoting personal loans
- The law does not specify that banks are the sole providers of personal loans. However, if the advertiser is a bank, then unless the loan falls into one of the following categories, the content of the ad may not declare or imply that the debtor's total debt load in all financial institutions may exceed 22 times the average monthly income of the debtor:
- Policy-based student loans.
- Loans provided in accordance with regulations in the Policies on Assistance for Youth Entrepreneurship of the Youth Development Administration of the Executive Yuan and the Guidelines on the Implementation of Entrepreneurship Loans for Micro Enterprises (both promulgated by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs).
- Loans for Youth Overseas Experience provided by the Youth Development Administration of the Executive Yuan.
- Loans for Indigenous Micro Economic Activities provided by the Council of Indigenous Peoples of the Executive Yuan.
- Credit Guarantee Loans provided by the Agricultural Credit Guarantee Fund.

Advertisers who promote financial products and services must ensure they comply with all applicable local laws and regulatory requirements.
