Local Market Sensitivity

Content that is sensitive or controversial in certain markets may not serve in those markets.

Country/Region Restrictions

Antigua and Barbuda
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Bahamas
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Barbados
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Brazil
  • Pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, as well as other agricultural products which hold any ingredient toxic to human health and the environment, are not allowed.
  • Advertising for furniture made of native wood and native wood lumber is not allowed without proper certifications, authorizations and permits.
  • Advertising for sales of native Brazilian animals is not allowed without the breeder’s government-issued registry number.
Croatia
  • Advertising for chemicals cannot mislead the general population about the composition, purpose or action of the chemical. 
  • Ads cannot give the impression that chemicals are not harmful to human health and the environment.
  • Advertising for agricultural and food products is allowed only if they are produced, labeled, and comply with marketing standards, as well as Croatian legislation. For example, products from the hops sector may be advertised only if a certificate has been issued for them.
Dominica
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
European Union
  • Ads for plant protection products (e.g. pesticides) must clearly and legibly state “Use plant protection products safely. Always read the label and product information before use.” 
    • A more precise description may be used in place of the words “plant protection products” 
    • Ads may not be misleading in regard to potential risk to human, animal, or environmental health (such as “non-toxic”, “safe”, etc.). 
    • Ads for low-risk products can state “authorized as low-risk plant protection product in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2209”. 
    • Ads cannot contain any visual representation of practices that are potentially dangerous.  
  • Ads for biocidal products must clearly and legibly state “Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use”. 
    • A clearer reference to the specific product may be used in the place of “biocides”. 
  • Ads may not be misleading in regard to potential risk to human, animal, or environmental health (such as “harmless” “natural”, etc.).
Ghana
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Grenada
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Hungary
  • Advertising containing content related to dogs which are considered to be dangerous is not allowed.
India

  • Material that is grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, pedophilic, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, including bodily privacy, hateful, racially, or ethnically objectionable, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, disparaging, relating to or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws in force is prohibited.
  • Advertising that is patently false and untrue, and is written or published in any form, with the intent to mislead or harass a person, entity, or agency for financial gain or to cause any injury to any person is prohibited. 
  • Advertising that deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of such messages or communicates any information which is grossly offensive or menacing in nature, impersonates another person, is patently false or misleading in nature but may be perceived as fact is not allowed.
  • Material that may harm children or minors. For example, any content that:
    • Depicts children in an obscene manner.
    • Depicts children engaged in indecent or sexually explicit acts or conduct.
    • Cultivates, entices, or induces children to online relationships with one or more children for sexually explicit acts or that may offend a reasonable adult.
    • Facilitates abuse of children online.
    • Facilitates the sale of restricted items to children, such as alcohol, gambling, or depictions of violence.
  • Advertising for material belonging to another person and to which the user does not have any right is prohibited.
  • Advertising that infringes on any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights is prohibited.
  • Advertising or landing pages that contain software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource is prohibited.
Jamaica
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Japan
  • Advertising for pet sales or adoptions are allowed only if the transaction is face-to-face, pet transportation cannot be an element of the sale.
Lithuania
  • Advertising cannot make reference to the name/surname of a natural person without consent or make use of their image. 
  • Advertising for plant protection products and biocides that are not registered in Lithuania is not allowed.
  • Advertising for unregistered chemical substances and preparations which are subject to mandatory registration is not allowed. 
  • Advertising for chemicals must indicate the properties of the dangerous substances or preparations. 
Nigeria
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Oman
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Philippines
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Poland
  • Advertising for solarium services is prohibited.
  • Ads concerning dangerous substances (as defined by PL Act on Chemical Substances) should indicate hazard classes and categories.
Portugal
  • Information on the origin, nature, composition, and the properties and conditions of acquisition must be made available in a transparent and truthful manner and must be accurate and verifiable.
Saint Lucia
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Saudi Arabia
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Slovenia
  • Advertising for substances classified as dangerous (as defined by the Slovenian Chemicals Act) must indicate the relevant hazard classes or categories.
South Africa
  • Advertising for a product that contains genetically modified organisms must contain a statement to the effect that it contains GMOs.
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Trinidad and Tobago
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Turkey
  • Advertising for chatting, friendship, and matchmaking lines or services is not allowed.
    • This does not apply to business communication products for professional use.
Uganda
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
United Arab Emirates
  • Advertising for education programs is not allowed.
  • Advertising for real estate products and services is not allowed.
Vietnam
  • Advertising for fertilizer and bioproducts for farming and breeding is not allowed.
  • Advertising for insecticides and germicides is not allowed.
  • Advertising for pesticides and plant protection products is not allowed.
Zambia
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
Zimbabwe
  • Advertising for camouflage clothing or other wearable products is not allowed.
